Eastwood Collegiate Chamber Choir 2010/2011

Eastwood Collegiate Chamber Choir

Conductor: Mrs. Tammy McMath

Eastwood Collegiate in Kitchener is home to two arts programs; the Integrated Arts Program and the Specialist High Skills Major in Arts and Culture. Students from across Waterloo Region and as far away as Guelph, Fergus and Drayton audition to be involved in a unique arts experience.

The Eastwood Chamber Choir is an auditioned group of 24 singers from Eastwood's larger Concert Choir. These dedicated singers are challenged every week to hone their rehearsal, singing and leadership skills while working on ambitious repertoire. Last year, following a successful performance at the regional competition, they were invited to perform at Music Fest Nationals in Ottawa. The Chamber Choir has a very busy performing schedule this year, including performances with the Police Choir, the Waterloo Country Teachers' Choir and the KW Symphony. Their conductor is Mrs. Tammy McMath.

Music is alive and well at Eastwood but the resources to support such an ambitious program do not match the talent of the students. Seeing an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy, the students are undertaking a major fundraising event to replace the 55 year old instruments and to purchase other much needed equipment and resources. Eastwood's first gala event of it's kind, "Rebelations" will be held Friday, May 6 - Saturday, May 7 and will include a concert, opportunities for past graduates at attend rehearsals and tour the school, a silent auction and a dinner/dance at the Holiday Inn.

Past Rebels, businesses or individuals interested in donating to the program or purchasing tickets for the gala should contact  juliecspry@hotmail.com
