Ruth Anna Lindemeir - Zither
Ruth Anna Lindemeir started to play the Zither at the age of ten. As a member of the Zither Club Heusenstamm, Germany, she had the opportunity to attend Music Academies and National Competitions.
Since coming to Canada she has been playing at numerous cultural events in Winnipeg and surrounding areas, i.e. Folklorama for 12 years, at Lake Louise (AB), other provinces, and North Dakota (USA).
In due course Ruth Anna ventured into new musical territory (Adult Contemporary) and has as part of the band "The Myth" released independently, with original material, the CD "Dream Harbour".
Performing with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in 2003 was one of the highlights of her musical career.
She moved to Elora a few years ago and would like to keep the sounds of this traditional and well loved instrument alive.
