Lasset eure Liebesflamme
The Brass Band of the German Evangelical Alliance is an assembly of about 20 musicians coming from several congregations. They like to play sacred music and enjoy fellowship with each other. Most of them have a German background and attend a German or bilingual church.
The German Alliance Brass Band and the German Evangelical Alliance Choir were formed from the Deutsche Evangelische Allianz (DEA), an alliance of six originally German-speaking churches from the K-W area. The churches include the Central Baptist Church, the Christian Fellowship Church, the Gospel Church, the Immanuel Pentecostal Church, the Martin Luther Evangelical Church, and the Mennonite Brethren Church.
Since its formation forty years ago, the alliance of churches have seen as their mandate, to serve Jesus Christ within the world, and to offer fellowship to others. It is in this spirit that the members of the German Alliance Brass Band and the German Evangelical Alliance Choir come together to praise God through music, song and fellowship.
The band sees its prime goal to enrich church services and play for the enjoyment of worshippers. The repertoire is predominately choral music and pieces fit for divine services. Many of the visitors of Christkindl Market may know they tunes and find themselves humming or singing along.
The musicians would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas.
Herz und Herz vereint zusammen sucht in Gottes Herzen Ruh.
Every year, the German Evangelical Alliance Choir comes together to perform at the Christkindl Market. Its members are drawn from many churches of various denominations, each with its own distinct German musical heritage.
Fortunately, it’s easy to put together a program of familiar German hymns that proclaim the message of Christmas. These traditional German carols stir up fond memories, and create a festive mood for both the listening audience and choir.
Let the music reawaken your fondest festive memories. It's Christmas!
